MultiChoice launches SuperSportBet

DStv and SuperSport owner MultiChoice Group has launched SuperSportBet, a new betting platform created in partnership with sports betting and digital entertainment company KingMakers.

MultiChoice said the “ground-breaking” betting platform would “revolutionise” the sports betting experience for fans across South Africa.
 
Going to be interesting to watch this fail. The platform is nothing special, and isn't groundbreaking at all. They're joining a market that is utterly saturated by operators and over valued.

Also, the decision to go with a WC license is madness. Sports is no longer the dominate rev driver in SA, it's casino and its variants.

What is a WC license? (I know less than zero about betting or gambling in general)
 
Ground breaking and revolutionize? How? Does it auto generate bets that lose that no customer wants and then Supersportbet will pro-rata the refund as a bonus credit on the players account that they can never withdraw?

A license from the Western Cape gaming board, which is the worst board to deal with on a operational level. They have 4 people working there iirc.

They also want all marketing material to be approved by themselves, so everything needs to go through them, which takes weeks or even months for the smallest things.

It's desperation time now that they've had to turn to gambling.
