DStv's big sports boost

MultiChoice recently reported that its advertising revenues in South Africa grew 3% thanks to a strong sports schedule that compensated for a weak macroeconomic environment.

"True to its reputation as one of the world's leading sport broadcasters, SuperSport delivered the most extensive Olympic Games broadcast globally during Paris 2024," the company stated.

Only 3%
Wow.... those are shitty numbers.
LOL. Never seen a company blow it's own trumpet so much. They do know there's a time difference between Japan & France? 3% in 4 years is insignificant. I remember 20 odd years ago their, their ads were insane. Don't know about now.

They've always blown their own trumpet this much, as far back as 1987. It's inherent in their culture.
Around 2015 they used to ban people critical here of MonoChoice.... any negative criticism against them earned you a date with the steel mallet, now it seems they can't afford protection money but will pay BiankeBot and Puchert to churn out endless garbage

Imagine if you actually let people watch the sport.

Not how the corporate world works of course.
No wonder online is so popular

Going to give most of these articles a miss, some of us are convinced that without Canal+ this company just has less and less to offer.
