Showmax 2.0 launching with slew of new shows and movies

MultiChoice has announced some of the local and international content launching on its revamped Showmax platform when it goes live in February.

MultiChoice said its partnership with Comcast guarantees an ongoing supply of hit content for fans of international shows and movies, as the media giant owns Universal Pictures, NBC, Peacock, Sky, DreamWorks Animation and Telemundo.

So with a DSTv premium sub I can only get Showmax 1.0 right?

Showmax has clearly defined their demographic, I wont be renewing my sub
Not really bothered by their expanding "local" content library to be honest, as long as their international content library also keeps expanding.

I hate to say it, but we are watching Showmax more than Netflix and Prime.
If you're one for foreign films and subtitles then Netflix can't be beat, but they do miss a lot of blockbuster films and shows that Showmax seem to have.

Also, frustratingly, their collections are always incomplete. It's not a trilogy if the first or final installment is missing.

Unless they include all the local Kyknet content I'm not interested.

No word on all the seasons of Frasier. Peacock is carrying the new season so I hope it's available once it launches.
