Customs seizes 5,000 counterfeit DStv goods

MultiChoice, in collaboration with customs authorities and the South African Police Service, says it has taken action against an alleged counterfeit goods distributor.

The pay-TV broadcaster said that together with law enforcement, it successfully concluded proceedings under the Counterfeit Goods Act against Uni Li Cell (Pty) Ltd and its sole director.

Well done Multichoice you bunch of dumb muppets, you cracked down on illegal DSTV decoder power supplies lol.

you know a company is scratching at the bottom of the barrel where they're celebrating busting fake transformers with the word DSTV on them lol.

Can this company just die already? Its like the dead horse we keep hoping for and it gets beaten back to life lol.

Um, DSTV really going to new levels of low, any 12VDC 1.5amp power supply will work with their decoders.
So is no one allowed to import power supply units now?

Trademark issue aside, that I understand the confusion it would cause.

I'm sitting here upgrading the software ony my usually dormant 4K decoder. Just waiting for FIFA WC 2026 to hopefully experience some actual 4K.

MultiChoice said the counterfeit power supplies were crushed manually with hammers to extract recyclable components.

Cables were stripped to recover copper wiring, and all cardboard packaging was collected for recycling by authorised agents.
Wow, Multichoice really are desperate for money if they are having to strip copper wire to make a buck.

Great news!!

Put them in jail and throw away the key
