You can get a generator for about R10 000,not a big deal.

I use 150w for about 4 hours in the evenings. I have a TV, android box, router and few lights running. Not sure why you need more?
Yep fair enough

I guess definition of off grif differs from person to person. I use at least 600w at night. Fridge, freezer etc.

If the next 2 days are overcast then a generator would be needed.

Yes, you will have to make a few changes but it is definitely possible.

You do know the 900 is mostly because of SS right? The sports bodies charge a fortune
But you can get a business subscription which includes everything for about R400 per month per television set

No, Supersport is not enough. Support for local sport, including Rugby has declined. Many people could not give 2 f**cks about the Springboks, Proteas and the likes. As for international sports, there are cheaper options available in IPTV services.

They f**cked over their client base over the years. The honeypot was eventually going to be dried up. They should have known it.

True.
Look at the URC. Its flippin embarassing to see our stadiums empty on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Compare this to overseas games, stadiums are full, in piss poor weather even.

DSTV kept on putting up their subs although the rest of the world had to do more with less. Now it caught up with them. Unfortunately, it took longer than was needed. But I must say that my champers is ready to pop!

They actually didn't raise their prices that much, it went up R10 in April.
But streaming services have been raising their prices as well.

Depends...how much is that average Joe spending on a car? Which is a depreciating asset. Meanwhile a solar system is an income generator. I think it's more of a mindset issue.
Your car gets you to work and back, generating income.
Gets your kids to school.
Gets you freedom to explore and enjoy life.
A car also gets you to help in an emergency.

A car is a utility and an asset that drastically increases your quality of life.
The only mindset issue here is yours.

There are 30k (registered) cars in the country.
Whut? Which country?

" There were a total of 12 027 860 registered vehicles in South Africa at the end February 2017, according to the electronic National Administration Traffic Information System (eNatis)."
