Your car gets you to work and back, generating income.
Gets your kids to school.
Gets you freedom to explore and enjoy life.
A car also gets you to help in an emergency.

A car is a utility and an asset that drastically increases your quality of life.
The only mindset issue here is yours.
Ok, let me spell it out in pictures and big words..:)

I'm not suggesting one or the other. But maybe 200k extra spent on a premium car vs a PV system and a less premium car is a better financial decision.

You cannot get off grid with 100k unless you also spend money on a generator of some sort. Well unless you live in some undiscovered part of SA where there are no overcast days.

Or unless you live like a caveman with 200wh usage , which makes it all kinda pointless
I'm off grid on a farm. We run everything of a system that probably has a 120k replacement value. 4 pax, boreholes, house, caretakers cottage, glamping tent etc. And I'm an avid gamer...
So if you work smart, it's def do-able:)

A 200k car?
I doubt people who can afford that would have an issue affording solar.
