Is it possible to split the output of my AP (Netgear DG 832) and put one directional antenna (simple 8dbi patch) and one omni (the basic original that comes with the unit) on the split, or will this cause hassles?
Anyone actually tried this?
Thanks!

I am making the patch myself, so I only need the SMA connectors - I guess I would need 1x (reverse male SMA?) for the splitter to screw into the AP, 2x (female SMA?) for the splitter's other ends and 1x (reverse male SMA?) for my patch.

I have found this source for SMA connectors: http://www.rfdesign.co.za/pages/5645456/Products/RF-Connectors/SMA-connectors.asp

Ok... so I put up one antenna...
Why should I get a pigtail and patch antenna? Possibly because this is the only format they are available in?
Or can I simply do my own patch with SMA at the end of the cable?
