Seems like the ANC did better than expected:

The ANC triumphed in 23 of the 27 wards which were contested in six provinces in Wednesday's by-election, according to the Independent Electoral Commission.

The by-elections were held in the Eastern Cape, the Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu Natal, Limpopo and the Northern Cape.

The Congress of the People took two wards, while the Democratic Alliance and the Independent Democrats won one each.

A total of 45 733 people cast their votes out of the 111 325 who registered, according to the IEC's summary report

Idiots voting for idiots:(

MY questions, how many of these by-elections were in anc strongholds, or previously belonged to the ANC. The two seats that cope took, where they previously ANC seats? What about the DA and ID?

The report is very sketchy, as you come to expect when news24 reports on the ANC

You can download a comparison report from my website. The feature is available on the IEC's website for the future.

ANC lost 3 Municipal Wards.

Inkhata seems to be disbanded. ANC will probably win the next elections, unfortunately (I don't say ANC is incompetent, but alternance is good for a country)
