Which one? Both parties are apparently struggling to find good candidates, but clearly the Republicans more so. They're not even scraping the bottom of the barrel, they're broken through and gone subterranean.

The fact is that even the first time Trump won due to a quirk in the election system. He has never had majority support amongst the voters. The curious thing is that it appears that it is overwhelmingly Republicans that have ever won without majority support. Obviously that is just how the system works, but supporters parading around like he had majority support is just silly.

The UK also has a badly skewed election system that gives significant majority control to parties that don't even have 50% of the vote.
