I didn't even know who Taylor Lorentz was before this blew up, so don't know enough of her history to have much of an opinion. Perhaps she has crossed some red lines that warrants a ban. Musk should explain though.
I do know that FB (always seen to be to the right of Twitter until Musk) have banned LoTT, and you don't need to be a genius to know that their posts are dishonest, misrepresentative and are a propaganda tool that plays on the emotions of the far right. Most people probably don't even know about them and their cult followers, but if they did, would not agree with how they go about exposing troubled youth, calling gay teachers groomers etc, and generally creating further divides with misrepresentation and massive bias. If you can't see that, then you're in the cult too.
Debates about anonymous sources for journalists have been a thing forever - don't think there's even an argument for anonymous journalists. Under a pseudonym? Maybe that's ok if the reporting is honest. My opinion.
Most people didn't know who Taylor was, mostly because she hasn't done any newsworthy reporting. She publishes false information twisting what people tell her to fit her story. So much so that people now just ignore her requests for comment. In short she's a clout chaser.
FB banning is irrelevant, they ban many things that twitter did not. They are by no means to the right due to things like this. All these sites have their own way of doing things. They all needlessly suppress content. Wherever this is FB, youtube heck even indiegogo shadow bans people for no reason.
I don't consider libs a journalist, it's mostly tongue in cheek considering who others consider as journalists. You're right that most people aren't aware of her, but you're wrong about their response should they become aware. Most would think this can't be real and must be a joke since they won't be able to believe the behaviour of those on the videos. Making more people aware that this does exist and is in fact self celebrated is a good thing. Have them start questioning why this is happening.
Groomers are groomers, trying to link this solely to alphabet people is a disingenuous attempt to shield the behaviour. Much of this over the top behaviour is due to the interaction dopamine hit of social media(likes and clicks and all that) . Laughing at such behaviour is a good way to clamp down on it. Teachers that post such videos most definitely do not belong near any children. I agree these people are troubled and need help. Sadly no one wants to help them since it's believed that not affirming their beliefs in harmful. Normalising it is more harmful.
The debate about pseudonyms were usually centered around reporting on something counter the norm. This is probably worse now with the tendency to try and cancel people. Heck Bari and taibbi are accused of being right-wing by MSNBC
That said I prefer named journalists.
