Once again though that would be fine if Musk hadn't framed Twitter as the proverbial digital town square.
So in what way is he preventing people from speaking their mind?
I can go speak my mind at school board meetings, but I won't be able to vote. Doesn't mean it isn't an open platform for all voices.

Nah if you're invited you shouldn't need to decline because someone somewhere will take offence at other people in the vicinity. This guilt by association is childish.
Many other people also took photos with the various people there. The selective posting of photos is meritless.

So yes my previous statement about "news" containing all these buzzwords stands.
He's a billionaire. He doesn't need to accept an invitation from dodgy people to watch a soccer match.

I think we've already established that we're already passed the point of an open platform. Stop pretending that it is.

Why not? Money saved is money saved. Aren't some of those in attendance also shareholders?
Perfect opportunity to mix business and pleasure at such an event.

There are no holds on who can join, or who can become a member. That's the definition of open.

The only part where this doesn't hold is him not allowing people like AJ etc back on. Or by not doing away with the permanent suspension system.

You really don't get it. I know people who declined 2010 world cup final invitations simply because of optics.

Then those people are stupid or spineless, no offence.
If you keep capitulating to optics then it retains power. Much of the problems in todays world stem from people worried what others would say because it gets taken out of context deliberately and thus cancel culture retains it's power.

So, hypothetically speaking, if Epstein were alive today, on parole and knowing what we know to be true you'd accept an invitation to Epstein's island?
