i'm curious as to why a thread is hanging on to an ancient heading, as tho musk is still intending to purchase -- after purchasing ages ago

it is going to live out of twitter live data. So I think it will have more than enough data. The question is will they be able to make the model good to discern things. if they do it could really be an awesome news aggregator That being said I am excited for it and hope it brings companies like openai, anthropic and google gemini and the opensource community to the point where all of them compete even harder to build better models. of all the things happening on twitter this one is the coolest so far.

Opensource models are already pretty amazing. And since Nvidia brought out their "system memory fallback" feature you can run large models on graphics cards with low memory as it just uses your system ram when your vram gets full.

Check out text-generation-webui for the interface and huggingface.co for models.

It's literally just that easy.

I'm sure none of these people matter though, that the team behind Grok have worked at some of the leading AI companies and helped develop some of the methods used in the AI field.
