It's there in black and white out of Jack's own mouth. I am pretty inclined to believe the person who ran the company for years (and my own experience) over some random dude on the internet.
I'm not commenting on Jack's comment on Twitter's pace of growth. I'm commenting on the your assertion that "Net profit is the biggest determinant of sustainability. Or at least a break even". There are many companies who for many years were not profitable nor breaking even. Many are still running profitable or not today.

That does not make them sustainable in the long term. The ultimate goal of a business is for PROFIT. How do you not understand this?

Cue three pages of him totally missing the point and then tapping out with, "Agree to disagree."

100%. So then perhaps the current Twitterati unhappiness has more to do with Musks' own free speech position being at odds with expectations again for the platform and it's current terms?

And he's saying not making profit for a time doesn't mean you aren't en route to achieving that objective. As indicated Amazon and Tesla spent years building the business to a point where they can make profit sustainably instead of driving profit over growth in the unsustainable short term.

I don't know if Twitter were headed there, but the last 5 years show that they were headed in the right direction. Sort of. Musk is actually making aggressive cost cuts which could threaten the business's sustainability for short term profit.

Twitter is awash with people whining and whining about the most inane stuff.

I saw a post go viral because someone called Musk and Drake losers. I mean, imagine their self loathing if they think Musk is a loser...
There's a guy I watch on YT with a wife and 5 kids.
People call him an incel because he supports traditional relationships.

Twitter was founded in 2006. It's FIRST PROFITABLE year was in 2019. Tell me that is sustainable with a straight face.

The only reason it can sustain that is because it is in a bubble. It is valued more than it is actually worth. This is not rocket science.

As was the issue with the right last week when Musk said rules won't change until he puts a team together to go through everything.
