You really need to be a bit more questioning of your idols. Can you prove it was fake news that Apple wasn't considering banning the app?
Apologies - poor form. I'll tag you next time I see reason to mock you.Don't be scared. Tag me.
Another person who totally didn't believe that Apple were going to drop Twitter. You really need to be a bit more questioning of your idols.
Musk after buying Twitter.Yea.. what drama is Musk generating next? Has to keep Twitter in the news... have to keep users active so he can say "engagement is highest ever"![]()

Well.. he needs a billion per year for intrest. Doubt he is going to blowing his money on it !Musk after buying Twitter.

Bro, people pretending that Apple wasn't planning to drop Twitter. Not really. It was very plausible that Apple were considering such an action since Big Tech hasn't really covered itself in glory in recent years over censorship issues and their very obvious political biases (mostly located in one of the bluest states in America). I have very little trust in Big Tech!
Bro, people pretending that Apple wasn't planning to drop Twitter.
Of course they were.
Did we forget that Apple stopped their advertising with Twitter.
The official Apple Twitter account deleted all of their tweets.
The guy in charge of the App Store completely deleted his account.
But Musk said that Cook said there was no plan and just a misunderstanding!
Like I said earlier, purely a diplomatic answer from Musk since they made a deal at this meeting.
You don't leave a meeting like that and say, "Yeah fck Apple and Cook. I win again hahahahahaha"
But they did on Twitter and then actively closed them after Musk made right-wing changes. They also don’t advertise or have private accounts on Facebook, Parler or Truth Social, yet all those apps are alive and well on the App Store, funny that![]()
Which is why you need to be a more skeptical of Musk whose Tesla (and possibly his group of companies) are considered a sub of big tech, but here you are swallowing his tweets whole. A lot of people here never dismissed his allegation out of hand, just that we treated them as just unverified allegations.I have very little trust in Big Tech!
What is this Shop X? And why does Bob dislike it so much? But they did on Twitter and then actively closed them after Musk made right-wing changes.
Why are we pretending it's the same situation.
"Oh, Bob closed his account with Shop X."
"Probably because Bob dislikes Shop X now."
"No no no, it can't be because Bob never had accounts with Shop G and B."
Ok and?

I treated Musk's allegations as just that.Another person who totally didn't believe that Apple were going to drop Twitter.![]()
He knows controversy and drama sells. It's working - the site visits are up. Sadly for him, ad revenue is down and has yet to learn that being seen as "taking a side" might be good for traffic, but not so much for advertising revenue. You don't see MS, Apple, Google publicly picking sides, but do all that behind the scenes with party donations etc.Elon is obfuscating the reality.

I'm guessing he'll eventually have to at least partially bring back some of the controls to prevent hate or harmful content (He has some upcoming issues with the EU already), and that he'd probably get lost advertisers back when that happens - and it would help if he stopped making political posts.
He'll either have to try and break even when the new sub system comes in to effect - he'll collect some from right wing supporters, but unlikely will be enough. We'll see. Or he'll get bored of his new toy and take a more back seat approach - or sell it for a loss and move on.
Yeah compliance is his Achilles heel when it comes to SocMed. We can pretend that freedom of expression is something we should get automatically but we operate inside of other people's houses, and have to follow their rules. The internet isn't as free as the meme portrays it. Walled Gardens and government rules is reality. He knows controversy and drama sells. It's working - the site visits are up.
