So the christian folk are ok if the olympics were to be held during the easter period? Or during the xmas period?

What I gathered from that article wasn't a threat of violence, but a request. Why are no major events held during these periods of xian importance? So ask yourself does it seem fair considering that their calender is different and dates don't remain fixed? Especially considering that one can predict the dates in advance. At least the request is being made well in advance, and not a year before the event. To adjust by one month 6 years in advance isn't all that unreasonable IMO.

Why is Christianity/Jewish holy days not accomodated? AFAIK Saterday's and Sunday's is the most popular day to have sporting events.

No one is suggesting avoiding all holy days every week.
But I would think that Ramadan is due at least the same respect as the significant events of other world religions.

I still don't get it... Everyones going off about certain religious days. IMO every day should be a day to live for your religion, whatever it may be, else you're not religious at all...

Guess that makes you intolerant of religions then!

Yikes guys, since when has a request been treated with such contempt. A request was made six years in advance and all of a sudden ppl have their knickers in a knot, come on guys.
If this was at the eleventh hour then sure but ***** its six years.
Anyway whatever the outcome at least the request was made.

The apple store is a ridiculous one but this seems rather rational.
