Afrihost, Capitec dominate in MVNO data price shootout

Afrihost's mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Air Mobile is the most affordable in the country for large data bundles, while Capitec Connect is the cheapest for lower data allocations.

MVNOs offer South Africans an alternative to using the country's prominent mobile operators, Vodacom, MTN, Telkom, and Cell C.

Not only the lowest priced prepaid data but also the lowest priced call rates. 64c per minute billed per second to any network anytime. I stand to be corrected but that IS the lowest prepaid base call rate in SA currently and it's not a promo rate it's our base call rate!

Will you guys ever get non expiring data and airtime even if it's more expensive?

Ported to the new Airmobile. Little did I know data now expires after 2 months. Imagine my surprise when my numbers (I have 5 of them) all auto topped up with 10GB on 1 June. R150 per topup. Data never expired on their old service. Why does it expire now? Had I known this I would never have ported. If I cannot go back to their old service I'll be porting away from Afrihost (waiting on their support to let me know if possible but still silence after almost a week). First time I've been exceptionally unimpressed with a service from Afrihost

Lol even on the old package data expired after 60 days. Were you trying to abuse the service?
Air Mobile data bundles last for 60 days, and customers can transfer data to other Air Mobile customers through the Afrihost app.
