checking the latest MWEB fibre options/offers and the fine print indicates that the ZyXEL router included only supports 40Mbps wifi?

"*Free router only support speeds up to 100Mbps on Lan and up 40Mbps over WiFi."

Surely that cannot be right? Even bog standard wifi routers/access points offer 54Mbps as a minimum.
Anyone have this router and can confirm?

1. I would never sign up with Mweb
2. I would always buy a decent access point (Unifi or similar) instead of that thing..

You never get the advertised speed of wifi. The old 54Mbps wifi you were very, very lucky if you get 30Mbps over it.
The router they supply is probably Draft N 150 or 300 wifi, and 40Mbps over that is very decent.

*54Mbps theoretical maximum

40Mbps is very decent.
