What is up at MWEB. I have been visiting Australia and the last week has seen major disruptions with access to the web page and the mail server. Not been able to connect to mail or banking for last 15 hours. Anyone able to shed some light on this?

Did a trace on the line and found the problem is in the routing via Kenya. Obviously Bigpond in Australia looking for cheap routing and send some of the info down the "side roads" not the highway. Still not fixed though.

Since the MWeb servers went down last week I'm having intermittent e-mail problems which they either can't or won't sort out despite my contacting their technical desk. I can't even e-mail others on the same MWeb (or Tiscali) domain! Seems like they may be having major issues.

Hmm almost pretty sure your traceroute should at least take you to MWEB via NY or London. Not sure why you going through Kenya. Internationally ISP's route based on what they get via BGP. So if that does happen its probably a BGP attribute thats forcing it towards Kenya. Mweb normally gets it international traffic via IS so most likely the traceroute should at least hit an IS ip address.
