MWeb pathetic customer service ADSL Gaming/download issues at 8pm until 10pm

have had a problem with MWeb since last year October to today, I have logged many calls with them and they are just giving me the run around and not resolving my issues.

I am a online gamer and since last year October/November I have issues with the game connecting.

This happens every night at 8pm and last for about 2 to 3 hours.

They first told me that it was a Telkom issues, I logged a ticket with Telkom about three times and evey time they checked and found not error.

Then they told me that it is the game server, I then logged tickets with Gameloft and they too said that the problem is not on their side.

I went back to MWeb evert time and every time I get to the call center where no one can actually help me and they log a time for someone to call me, always for the following week. Then a technical person will called me and still not being able to resolve my problem saying they have escalated to the senior technical person.

I then had to prove to them that this problem is on MWeb’s side by getting and Afrihost prepaid ADSL account.

Every night now when I am playing and it disconnects at 8pm, I have to change to the Afrihost ADSL account and it works! I change it back to MWeb ADSL account and it doesn’t connect, I change it back to Afrihost account and it works!!

I have also noticed that my downloads run very slow at the same time, yet I chance over to Afrihost and like magic, NO PROBLEM!

I have had enough now MWeb, sort your issues out and get back to your customers!!!!!

My bruh, I'm telling you. It's a mistake to still stay with Mweb, there is so many choices out there. You don't have a contract with them just move. I have been with axxess for almost a year and a half when I moved away from Mweb. The best decision of my life, you have proof move to Afrihost, if it does not work out. Just jump to next one, don't stay with someone just because you want to be loyal. If they really appreciated you, they would have fixed your issue and not keep playing the blame game.

Same issues I had with Telkom saying everything is fine, then somehow I spoke directly to a guy that was at the exchange when I got a call back from Telkom and he told me that line was faulty and needed fixing. I highly doubt it is MWEB, sometimes I just think Telkom can't be arsed.

Hahah. I'm with a similar. You know what one example is between 8pm-10pm my origin friened list doesn't work. I decided to get a 40GB Axxess account and it works 100%. I've been logging it +- 2-3 weeks ago and still not solved. They phoned me today to tell me they can't fix it cause I'm the only one complaining. they've escalated it with the senior tech and core network team. They can't seem to find the issue and that they can't do anything more for me. What a shame. Guess MWEB doesn't have the balls to admit they are in the wrong here. Time to move to another ISP. I'm done fighting with them and how can you recommend them.

Then MWEB advertise their capped 200GB as R199 per month and it's shaped where at Axxess it's unshaped for R189 per month. so what will you choose hey. I had massive respect for mweb when they did the "free the web" thing. Since lately just bad service.

I don't think it's a Telkom line issue as he said that switching to Afrihost account it works but MWEB it doesn't. so what can one say just make the move to another isp. I'm starting to realize if one is not happy just make the move the only way they can learn to not mess with customers is by voting with your wallet

Second best decision I ever made was to ditch MWEB when they decided to renege on their "Free the Web" trap.

Worst decision was going back to Openweb.

Best decision was dropping Openweb for CrystalWeb!

Do yourself a favor, send in your cancellation now, not sure if it's still the same but if I remember correctly it needed to be in by the 18th or something stupid like that.

I was with mweb as well. I left last year August. Reason is because for 2 months, I couldn't stream at all.

Between 12am and 6am, no streaming issues. When I changed to Afrihost or web Africa, no issues at all.

Processed my cancellation, they did nothing to resolve the issue. Moved to Afrihost and I'm much happier.

After Testing a 40GB Axxess that's the same isp as Afrihost I'm so happy. I stremed a video at 1440p quality and was flawless. on the mweb I couldn't do that

Last night and tonight it has gotten even worse, now it disconnects at 7:00. Changed to Afrihost account and it connects no problem, changed back to Mweb and NO CONNECTION.

Same issue for at least a week. Afrihost works like a charm, but mweb, tons of jitter here in cape town when i run pingplotter to overseas sites. Its happening right now again with accessing MyB forums.

Seems to only be in the evenings, when everyone is trying to stream (not me), but it's still erratic even with websites.

Hi, did any lights change on your router when the service disconnected?
