MWEB staff rumour - Telkom ending ADSL end-December

Had a call yesterday from a lady saying she's from my ISP MWEB, in which she started offering me fibre service replacements for my ADSL.

I stopped her and asked why she was bothering me, never asked for this advice. She then claimed that I will have to do this, that Telkom are planning to end all ADSL service at the end of December !

I didn't give her a chance to "explain", told her off and ended the call.

Posting this to warn others of this abuse / or in case I've missed something that says this could be happening, but even Telkom aren't that mad. Surely.
Did anybody else get a call about this?

^^ That article from Aug. was more about killing it as they kill copper cables, longer term, up to 5 years they say. No threat or notice for that here yet. (NE Jo'burg)

I heard there were a small amount of areas discontinued re ADSL last year, but that was isolated and Telkom got a lot of negative reaction.

Methinks this was just a confused or too eager saleslady.
