MWEB + THE WEEKEND = FAIL

I think it is a DNS issue... if you try ping google.com/.co.za/co.uk you cannot get it resolved. Strange thing is the that BING works... must be a Microsoft conspiracy :-)
 
This is not JUST mweb...this is everyone. lol. Stop blaming them...this is a national problem

Be that as it may, the amount of downtime is questionable to say the least. Of course, we can blame it on load-shedding instead :P
 
If this happens again, I'm ditching them. I just got a bill from them, for May and June (coz I joined at the start of this month), so Monday is my last opportunity to cancel, but I don't know if they'll reverse the charges for June :(
 
Looks like SABC is also using MWEB they cant broadcast some of the news.
 
Hi Guys,

I can confirm there is at least a partial failure on the Neotel backhaul network for SEACOM. I know this because our protection circuit from the Landing station to Durban is currently down, and I've had calls from other ISPs asking what we are seeing.

This is NOT a SEACOM problem since our dark fiber into the landing station is working fine. This also doesn't seem to be limited to MWEB, its wider than that.

*Sigh* you really wonder where the redundancy is from Neotel on the backhaul sometimes...

I have a Basic IS uncapped account [R499] + Uncapped express [R899] + Mweb 4mbit uncapped.

And its just for 1 month so I can see what is best. I basically only use Mweb. But I got the uncapped IS account to see how they compare. BOTH IS accounts works fine on international.

Depends how you paid, if you paid by debit order ensure you do not use the account and phone the bank.

I am on axxess IS now and it's working.

BFCBC2 kept dropping me off the servers. This is not cool. Seems those tinfoil okes might have a point.
 
This is hampering my CoD MW2 character development. How is one suppose to get the akimbo shot guns now.

Thanks Killa, I'll try the nice way on Monday and take it from there.. I guess it depends on how long it is down for now.. The problem last weekend tooking something like 3 or 4 days to resolve!
