Sentech has recently indicated that they will invest in a WiMax network after receiving R 500-Million from government...

You have to be kidding me... Do we not have a say who uses our tax money to wipe their butts?!

Spectrum is so scarce but they decide to waste it on Sentech. It is almost criminal. Sentech will stuff around and end up with 6000 subscribers again while all the other guys will have 100000.

erm 80 ms latency to where exactly? to the nearest broadcast tower? to a locally hosted saix server? to a server hosted internationally, i.e. europe or america? sound like someone trying very hard no to tell the whole story.

Below is his words I jotted in my notebook. I cannot answer questions on his behalf, but if you wish to know more I can ask and get back to you.

Pros:
1. More solid than ADSL
2. Uploads are stronger and faster than ADSL
3. Hail and bad weather recently had no effect on download speed.
4. Symmetrical speeds - Up and down is the same.
5. At times speeds are faster than 512Kb and solid.

Cons:
Intermittent interruption of service, but you are notified via SMS to the disruption. It is a trial and they are testing?

Keep in mind that EVERY wireless provider (Sentech, iBurst et al) had fantastic speeds during the trial period... see where they are now

Speed is a constant and solid up and down 512Kb and it seems recently this speed is even a bit quicker.
I think the fact that the weather has little or no effect on these speeds suggests that the technology or frequency spectrum is in a better range as opposed to what the Wireless Providers are offering? Please fill in your opinion here as I have never had a Wireless Connection before.

What will happen after the launch of the product into the market when more people are connected, I cannot say.
