Hi guys,

A few weeks ago, i posted a problem i was having with my 3 gig allowance being used in only 4 days, i didnt download a thing. Just browsed.

Anyways from advice from some of you guys i did some cleaning up, virus removal, a few updates of a few things.

It is much better than what it was, instead of 3gig lasting only 4 days, it looks as if i might squueze 15 days.

Is there anything else i can check.

Change passwords on router and at ISP. Use SASA to see how many connections being used. I found that I had 2 connections, and had 1.5 GB stolen before I changed passwords. Try also adware and windows malware tools

You might also want to try going offline when not at the computer. This will surely save bandwith.

SASA is an ADSL stats analyser produced by AntiBody which works extremely well and give many details about your usage. Down load at http://antibody.za.net

That's awesome Tony, I'm with Telscum ISP and luckily no one has used my account as of yet, awesome utility, I've been to antibody's site, but looked past this ;) Cool, thanks man :D

Once your account has been hijacked the only way your'e going to prevent some one logging is to change your password until it gets stolen again. If its your PC you need to check for worms, trojan horses etc and maybe set your firewall up not allow any traffic unless you're at the PC. Means you will have to change every time you want to log on.

OR...

Dont store your username and password on the router... Set ur router up into bridged mode and make a dail up connection on ur PC... then even if some1 gets into your router all they can take is the telkom guest account :p

If you are going to go this route, then use IPcopy (Linux Firewall) on an old PC with two network cards. Setup IPCOP for ADSL authentication.

Or switch to WebAfrica and enable DSL Secure. With that enabled, only your line can connect.
