I gave my old HTC Wildfire to my GF as her Crapberry died for the eleventh time. I've got a Moto Defy. Tonight she's going through her phonebook and notices that my phone contacts have somehow made there way onto her phone. They are stored on the phone and not the sim. she has been using the phone for about 2 months now,and when I gave it to her I did a master reset on the phone restoring factory defaults. she would not have been able to copy my phonebook over to her phone because I don't think she would know how. We have never swopped phones or sims. She has free access to my phone so I don't think it is her checking up on my contact list.

What other way could it have happened?

check the phones sync settings, its probably getting your contacts from gmail or facebook etc, or you master reset didn't delete everything

Android syncs your contacts to your gmail account. Best is for her to log into gmail web using the same account as the phone does and check the there.

NEVER underestimate a suspicious woman. Even if you think she doesn't know how or has reason TO check up on you.

That's it. We both logged into the same gmail account with our phones. Blegh......

Well then just goto Settings -> Gmail account > settings and turn off Contact sync

If it has already synced contact details from the phone to her Gmail, she will have to delete them from her Gmail as well.

You should have done a factory reset before you gave her the phone.

All sorted now. Removed my Gmail account and set up one for her to use on the phone.

You can follow my advice above and still add yours but remove the syncs as requited. to be able to access/shared the paid apps. (Do this all the time)

Its normally a good idea to have a central account for a household to buy apps on and use it as a secondary, with your sycs set to your primary account.

PS: I thought this was the reason why you left your account on the phone.
