Ah, I see, so no dissenting opinions are allowed either?

Big difference between dissenting opinions and idiocy. Would you voice an overtly racist opinion, like Whites are Superior to Blacks, and expect not to be called out on it? No, so if you actually held that opinion you would usually keep it to yourself because you know just how taboo and idiotic it is.
Same applies to being homophobic or "thinking being homosexual is unnatural". The opinion is just as moronic and should be just as taboo, society has just not caught up yet.

Well said. Society still thinks uninformed homophobic opinions should be respected, just like society thought uninformed racist opinions should be respected 100 years ago.

Would you expect not to be ridiculed if you insisted that the world is flat?

Of course. I'm don't think that comparison is applicable to the topic of conversation, which seems to be about tolerance (for some people) and morality (for some people).

I think the comparison is perfectly applicable. People base their opinions on inaccuracies despite evidence to the contrary. That's the exact same thing as people believing the earth is flat despite evidence to the contrary. Such as the often touted 'opinion' that homosexuality is a choice.

I actually agree, what mybb is seriously lacking for balance is a proper lesbian thread.

Anyone? Anyone?
Nicci. Not sure it'll tickle anyone's fancy though - she posted a pic of herself, and she's in serious need of a dentist and some clean shoes...
