We spoke about it last night.

I find this odd, she wants an engraved wooden wedding ring, should we marry one day.

Where does one find such a thing? Does it rot? Does it last as long as a traditional wedding ring? Is it durable?

She doesn't even want studs on it.

I don't know about rings, but I know that some wood has been treated through multiple generations (like 300 years) so its tough and solid and rock hard. Doesn't degrade, rot and is completely water proof.
You can try get something made, I'm sure a jeweler would be able to help you there.
Also, a quick google search: http://www.simplywoodrings.com/

That's a cool idea. I've met someone wearing one once.

Good to know thanks man.

I think all those rings are ugly but she'll probably love them.

Did it look like a wedding ring? I don't want it to look like it came from a craft market :p

I must admit it was a bit understated. It wasn't terribly impressive. I thought it was kind of sweet and charming. A chunk of metal seems a bit impersonal and show offy.

I feel the same hey, not impressed with any of the wooden rings I seen so far.

It is her choice, I guess.

Considering what you're liable to be saving I'd say put in a bit of effort finding someone you can commission something special from.
