My Internet disconnects but not my adsl?

Hey guys, here's the log during the disconnect.

Aug 14 16:43:22 PPPoE: No response to 30 echo-requests

This happens maybe every couple of days at random times. I honestly don't know what can cause this?

Your adsl *is* disconnecting.

PPPoE is how your modem / router log's onto the remote network to provide internet.
If your equipment is having connectivity issues, generally its the ADSL line being iffy, and your equipment not being able to talk to the remote end. This can be due to bad lines/ signal issues, or *rarely* the other end. If its sporadic/ intermittent, its likely the line though.

Some modems have line stats which can show more details. Otherwise, let Telkom know that your line is being flaky.
They're not too interested in ADSL servicing these days though...

Thanks man, that makes a lot of sense as I did upgrade the line and my stats did go to ****. Much appreciated.
