My line speed for at least the 2nd time now is half of what it should be

Unfortunate timing meant it happened in the middle of a presentation I was doing on Teams necessitating my switching to tethering through my phone, but it seems my connection is now at 100Mbps and unlike on Friday, it didn't drop immediately to 50Mbps when I plugged in my TP Link to test as well.

If you want you can check on your side if both my current PPPoE connections are coming from the same B number, but as the downgrades seemed to be happening within minutes before, I am very optimistic that actions taken by OpenServe here have resolved this issue. I'll just monitor for a couple more days.

I will do a speed test again tomorrow morning and if it's still at 100Mbps I'm happy to consider the issue closed.

Thank you for letting me know, and apologies again on behalf of Openserve for the disruption.

I can confirm that both are coming in on the same B number, which is a good sign as well.
Yes please monitor over the next few days, and let me know if anything changes.

Fingers crossed 🤞

Still at 100Mbps, I think we can assume it's resolved. Will add a post in the event my assessment changes.

Thanks for all the help.

Thank you for the feedback, that's great news! :)
Its only our pleasure ! Please let us know should the issue persist again.

@CoolEscalator, @TheRoDent, issue is back again and much worse, I seem to be on a 10Mbps package now:

Based on my firewall graphs, seems to have started sometime in the last 48 hours:

I'm very annoyed now, it seems that OpenServe has "crossed my line" in some way and the last thing they did to "fix" it was temporary only, they need to solve the underlying issue.

Hi, 10Mbps is quite a specific speed. Can you check all of your port negotiations are at Gigabit?

Hi @PBCool, not sure how familiar you are with the history of this thread, but my initial report was of my line being limited to 50Mbps which was ultimately fixed when OpenServe (as per their words to @CoolEscalator) "rebuilt my ONT configuration" and I was then getting my full 100Mbps again, until yesterday.

Now my line is down to the speed of a 10Mbps package. It's not a negotiated port speed issue on my equipment as the screenshot clearly shows the throughput slightly exceeds 10Mbps, and I've always found that I get ever so slightly over the package size on speed tests, so this symptom is consistent with my previous issue, except instead of being incorrectly on a 50Mbps package, it's on a 10Mbps package.

This issue needs to be taken up with OpenServe, and it's not enough for them to simply re-build my ONT's configuration as that ultimately failed again some weeks later, they need to get to the bottom of how this has now happened more than once.

Yes I recall the situation, we still need to run through the basics before making an assumption. Openserve doesnt offer 10Mbps packages so is quite strange to be incorrectly provisioned to that profile.

I just tested by plugging in the Cool Ideas provided TP-Link Archer C20 router with different ethernet cables. Same slow speed. Tried restarting the ONT, same slow speed.

Hi there, I definitely see an issue on the link- let me reprovision the link quick on Openserve's end.
If this goes on, will request if an ONT swop option is available
