My motherboard doesn't like my new psu

Hi everyone

I was wondering if any of you ever encountered this before because this is a first for me. I bought a Seasonic 750w modular psu for my new build. Plugged it in and the motherboard lights up but doesn't post. I did the usual checks i.e cpu seated correctly, memory etc but still nothing.

I then stripped the board out the case thinking it was maybe shorting but yet again the board doesn't post. I then tried my old vantec 500w psu and it booted first time. Took the new psu to the supplier and they checked it in front of me, plugged it into their pc and their pc worked.

I'm stumped, I've never come across a motherboard that wasn't compatible with a psu before. The motherboard i have is an Intel DP67BG Extreme series. I'm taking my pc into them tomorrow so that they can see it's not compatible, hopefully they'll swap it for a different one.

You plugged the right plugs in the right holes? Plugged in all the needed cables?

Yup, everything plugged in correctly, 8 pin and 24 pin both plugged into the motherboard, when i switch the psu on the board lights up but doesn't post. Do the same with my old psu and it works first time

So i went to the supplier showed them it doesn't work but my old one does, they tried another Seasonic but this time the X series and that worked perfectly. Looks like something on the Seasonic M12ii wasn't compatible with my board. They rma'd the psu and swapped it out for me.

I'm just thankful it's sorted now

Well, kudos to them for swapping it out without too many issues.

Yeah, they were only willing to swap it out if their supplier would rma it, so i went straight to their supplier to prove it wasnt working
