In Randburg,

I am quite impressed actually. The ticket system worked well. And the lady that served me was pleasant.

I don't know if anybody else has had issues with their PVR Remotes, but I go through them like toilet paper. The silly rubber pause button keeps breaking.

So I bought two new remotes for R200 each. In my opinion that's a good price for a universal remote.

I can confirm that my experiences at the Multichoice Care Centre were also very positive - served within a few minutes and the consultant was knowledgeable and friendly. Also nice that you get a ticket and can then sit down and read the paper or watch TV...wish more larger companies will do that.

Oddly enough I've had totally the opposite experience at the Durban "Care Centre".

Granted, I only go in to those places when I have something seriously wrong so 99% of the time its enough to stump the people.

But the one time I had a simple issue to sort out, by just adding the PVR service to my account.. they cocked it up so badly that I ended up basically having to k@k on one of the contact centre managers about his useless staff.

I had a good experience from Multichoice when my decoder went bust and when I phoned a very well mannered woman helped me! I was shocked that there is still some good service in SA! Makes you want to stay with DSTV...if only they did not repeat everything 10 TIMES!

At the Cape Town one, I went to the counter (didn't know about the ticket system) and nobody was standing there - only one counter was busy actually. The lady sent me back to get a ticket or she wouldn't serve me.
I had to laugh!

I found The Multichoice in Randburg to be very helpful.

They even had free coffee so i really didn't moan (well the coffee wasn't the real deal but at least there was something)

My mom worked for M-net VERY long ago and they still had her name and all on the system and had no problem setting up our decoder to work for DSTV and so on.

As is my luck - I also had the opposite experience :(

Bought a decoder - got home and tried to link it up to my account - apparently the decoder serial number was linked to some dude in Port Elizabeth - and I couldn't activate my decoder. The woman said the dude in P.E. probably gave them the wrong number, but the 'system only allows one decoder to one smart card' - I had to wait for them to track him down - even though mine was brand-spanking-new - it took them a day or three to find out he actually did make a mistake.
