So I live in the middle of nowhere, ye olde' country bumpkin town, but the neighbouring town, 90km to the East of me is even smaller than ours and even more remote....

This Monday morning, the owner calls us.... can he come and use our Spar system to send his orders to the DC..

On asking why, what was wrong with his system, the old man, who should be on pension tried to explain to us, when he came into work this misty morning and turned on his system he was greeted by a screen telling him that his system had been locked and he needs to pay 3 Bitcoins to get it unlocked....

"Wow!" , I thought unto myself...... "In the middle of nowhere"

I all honesty, I am lank excited, very curious to see how the techies from the DC solve this..... :erm::eek:

Ransomware attacks are also automated. They don't care about remote location, as long as your system is vulnerable and you stay online long enough to be compromised.

No need to get all sensationalist about it.
