Got the reminder SMS from Telkom Mobile today. *sniff sniff*

Thank you, Telkom Mobile, it is incredible value and I have saved a ton of money.

never received an SMS from Telkom and when I phoned to establish what the situation would be after the 12 months was explicitly told - and confirmed - that on the Mix offering it would continue.

Since they then billed me I raised the matter with the Pinnacle Contact centre who in almost 6 weeks haven't bothered to respond

Why not ask the Telkom Mobile rep what's happening with it?

Well, mine is ending this month.

Telkom mix falls with convergence and the mobile call centers are as useless as fixed but the rep isn't a bad idea

It will cost you R49 p/m should you wish to continue having unlimited calls TM2TM. Mine expired just the other day.

Mine also expired. I got my wife a contract with them now so she can phone me for the next 12 months...

Does anyone know what happens when the contract comes up for renal? Will one have to cancel the contract and take a new one in order to get another 12 months?

Hopefully we will get another 24 months, because we are renewing.

I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Recently a guy at the TM store told me that we would not keep the 5GB data after the 24 months. We would be migrated to one of the currently available (at that time) packages...

I find what the people say in store is usually not the same that actually happens.
I remember some people saying that about the i5 promo, instead renewals got an even better deal....

Does anyone know when those smartplan 100 + 5GB deals started? I guess we will see when the first guys are up for renal.

From what I have figured out so far, Telkom Mobile is actually taking customer retention seriously and that's why you get loyalty discounts (10GB+10GB for R199), etc.

They are quite nice to their first customers.

Fantastic news that they remind you about the 1 year free Telkom Mobile calls is coming to an end. TThey should include this on the 2 year contract signed even if they charge R20 extra per month on the contract..
