MyADSL 2006 Awards

I was wondering if there were such a thing, or could we start a thing to recognise and reward people and companies who are working hard to make the adsl landscape in SA better for the man in the street (Us on the forums ) MyADSL has become the main public pillar in the fight for the advancement of ADSL in this country and should use its brand to nationally recognise those players in the industry who strive everyday to make a difference and free the South African Telecoms arena.

We forumites could vote on catergories such as....

- ISP of the year
- ADSL Personality of the year
- Best Customer Service by an ISP
- Most Innovative ISP of the year
- Best Wireless ISP
- Telecoms Twit of the Year

These are just suggestions....The MyADSL crew would have to decide

lets hear your suggestions. We all give kudos to companies like webafrica and openweb, etc....lets use something like this to formally recognise their commitment and contributions to the industry. Who better to do it then us... the people

It could work in the same vein as the ITweb personality of the year. Where everyone submits who they think should win and then it is decided by the 'board' of MyADSL in conjunction with journalists or something.

MyAdsl admins have to think about using something like the awards to publicise and build their brand within SA. It could also give them more credibility in the industry and get more attention from the public that dont know about the good things that they are trying to do for the industry. Any attention drawn to Telkom showing its negative light would put them under more pressure. Plus...Im pretty sure that something like the awards would be published in the relevant sections of every newspaper in the country...can you spell free publicity? If Myadsl had any long term stratergy for growth they should look at ways of getting their brand out there....who knows, they might become more popular than ICASA lol. (Shouldnt be the hard now should it?)
