What's with the google bits loading up when pages on this forum load - with a local only account, it sometimes slows this site to a crawl simply cos it's waiting for some sort of response from the above. Annoying!

Hi Onepostwonder

It is Google Analytics: web stats tracking. We needed an objective measuring method to compare ourselves to other OPA sites...we may remove it after September if members find it too annoying.

I've found that when I have MyADSL open, my browser locks up for occasional periods. I was thinking it was the beta browser, but it only happens if I have MyADSL open among the tabs.

I just added it to firefox adblock and myadsl is back to its usual speed. Found when on local only account it would "freeze" waiting for international response...

Hi guys

Can we just run it for a few more days to get accurate stats for September? After that we will remove it...

Is this why my browser is constantly locking up recently?

I've got a simple solution, switch to opera :p

I've been on a local only account for the last two weeks and haven't noticed any slowdown whatsoever

I haven't used the Google Analytics system before - but from previous experience with other trackers...

Would it not help to move the code into the footer of the page rather than near the top where i think it is now?

It's pretty close to the bottom already.

For what its worth, I haven't noticed any slowness/lockups of the site.
