Does MyADSL site have limited bandwidth, or are Sentech intentionally limiting speed to the site? I understand the site is hosted offshore, however, I've found that over the last few days, it takes forever to load - much slower than many other international sites. Not wanting to be synical, but maybe "they" have intentionally slowed traffic to MyADSL so that we cant spread the news, or lack thereof...

My link to myadsl.co.za was working "fine" this morning, i.e. at around 56k. I could post OK. I must admit this ADSL link is faster, though.

I think it's time to remind the public how bad MySlowness is. I have posted a comment at
http://www.itweb.co.za/sections/internet/2004/0408230922.asp
and I would encourage others to do so too.

MyADSL is hosted offshore for reasons that I'm sure RPM could explain for hours (in short: Hellkom).

AFAIK: The reason that it seems slower than other international sites is that the content (in the forums) is dynamic, and as such is not cached by Sentech's transparent proxy. Other sites that are more static are cached (especially important for images) and thus, much of the time, you are not accessing the actual site, but rather the proxy.
