The Exalts is scary discussion. I found only one so far in this league.
Then the odd Chaos or two.
Need to optimize my gear. Rings etc.

Good luck with your currency hunt.

I assume now that I'm on lvl 90 dyeing is not a swear word anymore.

How does crit work. Chance or Multiplier? What should you have in those two departments.

Gathered about 50 Chaos and one Exalt so far this season, Chaos went to purchase my Abyssus helmet, so I still need more exalts to get a 6L and a Rigwald's curse.... But I will get there :D

I have never reached level 90 so I will take your word on it being less stressful to not die.

Crit chance increases your chance to have a critical strike (so it takes your base weapon crit chance and multiply it with your crit chance)
Crit multiplier increases the damage from your critical hits i.e. 100% crit multiplier will cause your crits to double the normal damage.

The fun thing about unarmed builds is that the base crit chance is 0% thus you need other items that add base crit chance first. (Increased crit chance gem adds 1.9% base at level 20 for example, the only other item I know that increase unarmed base crit chance is the Rigwald's Curse amulet..... this is where the Exalts is getting in to make the build work better)

As for as much you should have in both places (as much as possible, but for example I have 450 crit multi but without the Rigwald's I have 0% chance to crit the 450 multi means nothing)
Ideally you would like to have a much as possible of your hits to be critical hits and the slower your attack the more crit chance you need or else don't bother with crit. Crit is being calculated for each enemy hit so AOE builds works best with some crit chance.

Just a bit of rewording for clarity. You start off with 150% crit multiplier (visible in the tooltip). This means a crit will do 1.5 times normal damage if you have no other sources of crit multiplier. If you have 100% crit mutliplier from gear/tree then your total crit multiplier will be 250% meaning you will do 2.5 times normal damage on crit.

Ok under the char stats I have 24% of Crit. The multiplier Crit. sits at 198%.

On my Gems the 3 attack gems they are all at 89% Crit.

The 89% is that what is written on your skill description on your action bar? Do you have an increased crit gem in your link-setup?

I am also levelling a shield charge character, following Mathil's guide with facebreakers which I found on my first char. His version is no crit, probably due to the difficulty you mentioned with unarmed crit chance. I just got to Act 4 on merc, and I am really starting to struggle with damage scaling. Currrently the average damage per shield charge is about 1,2k where it has been for a while now. I have added phys almost everywhere I can, but really need an abyssus now to boost dps, since that is by far the biggest contributor to added phys damage. Trying to farm some currency now to buy one, but they are a bit scarce.

All my characters sucked, I don't really have much currency and all I have going for me is my 6L Carcass Jack. Any super builds I should try to ignite my league excitement again?

Shield Charge or Vortex :D
Vortex with focus on the damage over time is quite enjoyable, (don't bother too much with the frostbolt mechanics on it, just lightning warp into high density packs.
And I have to say I really love the crit Shield Charge build I am trying. Have not find any guides for it, but it is extremely fun to play (as slayer you have so much increased area radius that often you see things explode at the edge of the screen.)

Yea got my Abyssus for 40 Chaos :(

My Crit build is starting to work out now, have 38% crit chance and 500% Crit multi. Act 3 and now act 4 bosses in Merc is keeling over in no time. Clear speed is quite insane (for me at least), did struggle somewhat to cap resistances seeing that I only have rings, boots and armour where I can play around with.
Unbuffed I have around 8k DPS now at level 65, and one-shot most blue and yellow mobs in merc.

I am stumped still on charge management: Using Warlords to keep endurance up, but this is purely for IC and to improve my tanking.
Frenzy is topped up with Bloodrage (though with ~200ms ping, the increased attack speed from Frenzy does cause the game some problems...)
I now really need to keep my 3 power charges up as well, as the 150% increase to crit would a massive dps boost (pushing me towards 45% crit chance). Thinking of swapping Warlords for Assassins curse, but then I will need a new way to keep endurance up (hate to use Enduring cry, but may have no other option. Endurance on stun could also work, but I don't want to mess with my main skill...

The crit thing is making a lot of sense if you have ok accuracy. Currently facebreakers gives a lot of crit multi, but it does nothing without crit chance. I also have resolute technique atm. If you get rid of that and can add crit chance you should get a nice dps boost. But yeah, getting all the res is a bit of a mission. I am currently using a blue amulet with added phys to get my damage up, so with abyssus i can drop that for one with more res on it.

Which auras are you using? I am also using bloodrage, and self cast enduring cry, which is not great. Do you need the endurance charges? If everything dies so quickly it might not be required? I am currently hitting mobs 2-4 times so I get hit a bit.

Probably do not need the Endurance charges that much (but every now and then something does get a hit in and then Immortal call triggered by CWDT can save your life).

I have around 85% chance to hit, and to be honest the aoe effect of the shield charge coupled with the bleed from Herald of Ash I hardly ever see misses on mobs. (Well maybe I do, but running fast through most maps/ zones, I don't really care for the one or two mobs I leave standing).

I have no Auras (part from Blasphemy + Warlords Curse) at the moment. That coupled to Herald of Ash leaves me low on Manna anyway and for now I dare not drop my manna below 100 since then I have to use manna potions. I will switch in some Auras later when I start running curse immune maps.

I will see if I still have my phys hit amulet and a ring or two around you can have :D

OK so have not posted here in a while....but i have been playing in prophecy was not planning on playing in temp league ever again, std is where everything is and its easy to plan out your build from lvl 1. But Traq convinced me to try the new league. So i went with my tried and trusted Flame Totems....My motto "New league? we stick to what we know" and as such magic find is what i have been rolling a Chieftain cos I've always done it on a witch. Will re-roll the marauder to something else in std again.

I got a Greed's early on like day 4-5 i think got lucky and 5L that within a few fuse...The idea was not to go full MF where i could not cap res and not have enough defences to survive mid-tier maps. I currently have 12IIQ/200IIR and a lvl20 IIR gem as well at lvl 85. Res is capped. Dps is about 10k on totems on a 4link effectively and i can do up to about tier 6-7 anything higher and i will have to take note of the mods that are rolled. Been doing 2chaos recipe since ilvl60's started dropping...got my rings and ammies by chancing whites that dropped. I run my maps blue...unidentified if possible and only to the map boss, i avoid back tracking in maps like sewer, underground sea etc. The idea is to spend as little currency as possible.

I hit about 250+/- chaos via recipe alone, have parted with quiet a few via gentleman's agreements and have been purchasing cheap lvl 1/20q gems in the event I might want to roll another toon later on in the league. I am on course to hit 1000 chaos by league's end via the recipe alone.

Morning

Quit a productive few days, sitting on lvl32 with the challenge.

1) Kill Argus this will add one more point.
2) Getting 300 map drop from bosses, sitting on aprrox:100. This will add another point.
3) Touching shrines is another 50 outstanding, this will add another point.
4) Linked prophecies is another option, can add another point.

There are other option will see which comes first.

The six additional lab runs were quite easy. Except the fire one. Then having a Quick Silver flask with additional speed boost helps.

Last question were do you get Keys for the big labrinth run.

Those are the keys, the statues that drop from doing the uber trials are the keys. Pop one into your map device and the portal will open.

You are far from finished. You need to teach that monkey of yours some tricks.
Once that is done you can call it quits.

What about a char using blade vortex, for next league.

Yes used /global 820, they never dropped a key. The guys from 820 made the trials available. I assume who ever was first got a key.

Next question how do obtain next set of keys. Get keys from PoE.trade?

Finally got my shield charge slayer kitted out. All res maxed (even chaos is on 60% or so thanks to a Ming's Heart I found, and a nice dps boost), over 6000 armor, and shield charge is doing over 6k damage with Herald of Ash and Warlord's Mark running. Switching to Hatred will boost that a bit, will swap it out now that my gear is better. Did a rare level 7 map last night (highest I have been yet) and it was easy, didn't even notice the boss :) It is a bit of a pain to accumulate maps to go higher. Still need to do merc lab run, should be ok now. What level is normal Atziri? Wiki says 70, but I doubt it is as easy as a level 3 map? Should probably just test it once.

Got the Two hander EQ juggernaut going now. Upgraded Kaom's sign, to Kaom's way. Now on 650 regen with 3.5k life at lvl 65. Going to do Cruel and Merciless Lab runs tonight to get those juicy Endurance Charge buffs from Jugger. Quite pleased with the build. I haven't built a proper two hander since the open beta days of Ground slam being the meta. EQ is so insanely strong. Quite a fun skill. Makes me feel like an 80's/90's action hero. Walking away with a massive explosion happening behind you. :D
