Is it weird that I have almost no desire to complete the challenges?

@ SaiyanZ - Yeah, Grim Dawn entertained me moderately until I finished the first playthrough and then I lost all interest. Much preferred Titan Quest as it happens.

Last 2 leagues have done the "minimum" 36 challenges to get my 3 free MTX's.

Titan Quest was cool because it was fully WYSIWYG. You could actually /feel/ if a monster had special equipment.

I prefer games that are closer to simulationist roots.

Shoo - Testament to how easy our challenges are each league now.

Those were the good old days. Never played when that was applicable.
Looks rough to me, lots of grinding. Wonder if /global 820 was available?

Coming league will be my 4 one.

Then need to add XP how is it compared then, how well did masters level etc.

Alright, why shouldn't I make a kinetic blast assassin?
I would need 0% crit chance on gear, and can go CI with 265% to max ES by level 80 on the tree alone. Should make getting resistances capped easy, and throw in some crit multi near the end.

Or is life based deadeye simply better? Just don't feel like another character with evasion as primary defence :/

Wands can be tough to get right. So starting a new league with a wander skill could work out just find with a bit of self found luck. But if not, you might be spending a lot of your currency on just finding leveling upgrades, never mind an entry level mapping wand.

That said, I would still go for it. I dont see a problem with your build choice, and the ES argument along with the great crit chance argument is a solid one. This game is all about striking out on your own and experimenting once you have the knowledge under your belt. So go for it.

Guys just came in to say hi.

I wanted to ask does poe release the patch a day earlier before the new league starts?. This is the first time I want to start as soon as the league opens just wanted to check what I can expect from the steam download

They typically release the patch about two hours before the league starts in a Friday. Van range anywhere from from 500mb to maybe 2gb

Was thinking I'd go bladefall + BV (for bosses) until I got a good damage wand, the tree is pretty much the same until level 50 or so. And I'm hoping essences will make it a bit easier too. Obviously won't find the perfect one, but reasonable DPS minus the nice to haves should be easy

(Markov) patch notes are out :p
"Each additional dialogue to stutter on AMD cards"
"(The Atlas) has essentially been replaced with Dominus' chilling bond totems"

Real patch notes are out :D

You earthquake guys get several small nerfs that in my uninformed position means you will deal ±35% less damage at end game
Frostwall trickery is dead
Lots of active skills get buffs (from 10%-70% more damage)
All triggered supports are reworked - only 1 spell can trigger per event. CoC chance to cast is 100% per crit, and it has inc spell damage

I was thinking of trying a twin spell totem firestorm or bladefall build. what you guys think?

Never played totems (don't like the playstyle) so I have no clue.

Any ideas on how to give barrage decent aoe? Herald of ice plus crit is what I'm leaning towards, maybe 50% pierce. More pierce if I decide to use a bow and latch on Drillneck. Just trying to keep options open in case kinetic blast is ultra bad now against bosses :p

What a crap load for CoC builds and blade vortex...

BV gets +63% damage to map clearing, and minus 40% against bosses... not the worst thing, and remember you'll be able to save some cast speed/mana nodes so you can still make up the difference against bosses.
CoC will simply be different

I will test out my BV build to see how viable it still is. On average you have about 45 BV stacks against bosses, and 18 - 25 while mapping with whirling blades in my experience.

On a happier note, at least my RotC bows are still worth something.
