Really? I got to the tables very late and had more than enough to eat.
Huh? I got to the tables after making a phone call. Non was left on both sides. I saw people standing around looking at the empty trays.

MyBroadband Conference 2016 in Photos

The MyBroadband Conference 2016 was a huge success, attracting 4,000 IT and telecoms delegates to the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand.
What a load of crap as usual........... ;-(

All the glitz & glamour and yet the fact of the matter is that South Africa ISPs are ripping consumers off ..

Ironically the worst service providers had the prettiest girls!!

so much hype and promises but we get squat...

Easy to blame this gov dept & that gov dept, but see the billions of rands profit being made by certain telecomm companies in SA and one wonders how & why ??

I live in a currently disadvantaged community [non black] ..

Can't even get a 2 Meg adsl line... the HELKOM exchange is congested & is too far i am told..

Can't they build another exchange? NO --- not enough money i am told..

So i have to use VODAgaan broadband at R50 per gig of data... ;-(

The next billionaire in SA is gonna be the man/woman who can deliver value for money telecomm service in this country..

I also left the hall late. You that partly bald guy that was on the fist chair of the row? :p (set of seats on the right side of the hall)

left the hall, made a call. when I got to the tables there were only some scattered brownies and tarts left. Not complaining. Conference was good.

Loved the conference - first time attending

Did anyone else have major issues with the seacom wifi though? - especially in the conference room. I was literally 3meter away from an AP, but signal was 2 bars at most.

speed test in the hall from my phone got about 30Mbps, but inside the conference room i barely had connection (0.1Mbps throughput to timeouts).

yes distribution is possibly the issue, but i really wanted to provide positive feedback since i know how much effort went into providing that service.

what i did find strange, is that there was about 30 other SSID's floating around - eg ICASA was definitely not involved in allocating channels :p

It was a well organised event. For me the panel discussions were probably the best of the agenda. Perhaps my only gripe was the absence of snacks or something to nibble on after the conference. Great to see all the MyBB folk and forum members. I will be back.

Was alright actually, considering that many people went there for free. I have been to paid-for conferences that were much worse than the MyBB one.

Food was a bit of an issue but then again I did not hang around long enough until the additional trays came out.
