South Africa's best mobile network of 2022

MyBroadband Insights has released its annual Mobile Network Quality Report, which shows that MTN has the best mobile network in South Africa.

The report for the 2022 calendar year further revealed that MTN reigned supreme in all major South African metro areas.

I have both the Supersonic FNO and MTN 4G fail in my area when load shedding hits. Their lack of investment in resilience detracts from their one dimensional 'highest download speed' rankings. If they can't keep the service up then what is the point. Investment in only bandwidth plays well to rankings. Maybe we need reporting on uptime, QoS and customer satisfaction instead? Customer satisfaction is what this all comes down to. MTN/Supersonic is really bottom of the barrel in that respect.

Why even bother with this report/survey?
 
I don't believe that using average internet download speed is good way to rate an entire Mobile network provider.
I have no idea what the the right approach is, but I would drive around during stage 6 and noting down the signal strength of each operator.
 
we are waiting for Elon Musk one not all this expensive nonsense
 
As far as best network goes vodacom must be one of the worst as far as data goes.
Gradually since December my Internet speed has tapered off to the extent that it is slow in the morning +_ 5Mbps and the afternoon after 15H00 it can be anywhere between 0.5 and 3 Mbps. I have contacted customer service numerous times only to be told the technical team will contact me within 72 hours well maybe they meant 72 days or months because I have not had one follow on any of my calls. I have resorted to demanding fix it or cancel my contract at their expense phone call and email but still radio silence from them. Very frustrating.

You sure you with Vodacom and not Rain?
Sure sounds like Rain's playbook. :(
