I think these two photos, two nice images illustrating, the beauty the a Karoo winter holds wonderfully incapacitated by the two most prominent figures in the African sky.

Important - How to embed a photo in a post:

Use tags, with the direct link (URL) to the photo. it MUST end in .jpg (or .JPG/JPEG etc).

Correct: [IMG] http://mybroadband.co.za/photos/showphoto.php/photoname.jpg (remove spaces)

If it does not show, you have done it wrong! These are examples of incorrect URL structures:

WRONG:
showphoto.php

WRONG: http://mybroadband.co.za/photos/showphoto.php?photo=25640&cat=500

True but for wildlife zoom plays a big role in taking good wildlife pictures which my camera only has 5x optical not enough to zoom in close to get nice shots unless I am almost on top of them. For other type of pictures zoom isn't needed as much.

I only now (got it this weekend) a 70-300 lens. That is the equivalent of maybe 8.6x zoom on your 35mm mik-en-druk with 5x optical zoom. Before that I only had a 200mm lens, which is about 5.7x zoom in 35mm terms. (There's much debate over how to accurately compare SLR lenses to the x multiplication figure given on 35mm point and shoot. Your 35mm has 5x optical, so your range is 35-175mm. Or something like that. There's a crop factor involved so the values for the DSLR might need to be multiplied by.. something.)

Your average DSLR owner won't have a delicious 10x or 20x zoom lens. I still maintain that a good photographer can get a great shot, regardless of their camera. Also, remember that wildlife is not just bokkies and lions in Kruger. Birds, insects, reptiles.. those are all wildlife too.
