Another desperate attempt to throw mud and distract attention.

Let me guess, same newspaper/s, same source...

Maimane continued using the vehicle, despite being cautioned by party colleagues about potential damage to the reputation of the DA, after the accounting scandal engulfed Steinhoff in December 2017, Rapport newspaper revealed on Sunday.
Why would he continue doing this knowing that he's in the public spotlight, and after his own colleagues warned him?

I meant same source/newspaper as the R3.85m house at the start of this thread. Clutching at straws IMO...
Multiple sources are reporting it.

I like the guy, but he's not doing himself any favours knowing that the ANC would be looking under every stone for dirt on him.
He doesn't only need to stay clean, he's got to make sure that his public image stays clean.

I'm not saying its not true. Just making mountains out of molehills...

Speaking of which, surprising IOL isn't behind it. Iqbal Surve is good at hyperbole: https://www.zapiro.com/180412dm

Would he needed to have to declare that vehicle, if yes, did he?

Knowing that the DA is under such scrutiny it is foolish to accept any gifts such as free home and car rental, ........ he earns enough and is not dependent on these "donations", so steer well clear of them, and when offered such things, thank the person for their generosity and politely decline.

Did Zille enjoy any such gifts?

If it's as you imply, he crossed the wrong person within the DA, even more reason to turn down questionable gifts.

How naive must he be not to question why these businessman are offering him such gifts, and greed meant he couldn't turn them down.

The DA is as corrupt as anyone else is. This is just a convenient way to get rid of him.

Serious question. What corruption scandals are you talking about and why are police not investigating DA specific ones?

Why indeed. That is the very important question.
You are chief of police. You have 2 suspects. One who is alleged to have committed multiple murders over many years, other one alleged to have committed petty thefts. Would you really pursue both of them with equal vigour considering you have limited resources?

It isn't the job of police to decide what constitutes a crime that should be followed up or not.

One of the reasons why South Africa is a criminal state is because of the police making decisions like this.

He said that while there were no formal lease documents that existed, Maimane paid rent covering each month that he and his family have lived in the house.
How much, R5.99 / month?

If they really wanted to be transparent they'd have published the rent.
