nope, when signal is lost mine just starts searching for a new tower till it either finds the old one or a new one I'm not able to connect to. Then I have to get up and reset the modem till it locks onto a tower I CAN connect to.

Now, if you can tell me how to reset the modem without lifting my ass, I'd be impressed

Hell, my gran on a scooter with a memory stick is faster than Sentech's MyWireless!

Yup, same problem here (Fedora Core 2 with PPPoE). When the modem loses signal, and then regains it, I still keep getting :

LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests
pppd[21179]: Connection terminated.
pppoe[21180]: Timeout waiting for PADS packets

This repeats until I reset my modem manually and restart pppd and then we're off again.

Is this similar to your problem loose?

Listening to what was explained concerning the "features" of the v5 firmware it may be that the modem now manually does tower hunting ... you may be best suited with v 4.2.1.8 loosecannon.
