Hackers release more data after gaining access to the financial information of many South Africans

A hacking group that claims it fraudulently collected Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grants and infiltrated South Africa's financial system through vulnerabilities at credit bureaus has released additional information as proof of its statements.

Last week, a group calling itself N4aughtySecGroup contacted the media with a warning that it had breached several credit bureaus and used its access to attack the South African government and local organizations.

Nothing to see here. We call them script kiddies. They use existing information to access unsecured systems. The supposedly unique information they claim result from hacks is either outdated old information or doesn't match any records.

“People don’t believe us. Do we need to destroy the innocent first to be taken seriously?”

What is this, a famous five novel? Amateurs.

Not a single on of these breached companies will ever be held liable for the millions the public loses. Need to stop companies collecting your data without a court order etc. Time to stop the companies and governments who couldn't protect your data if they hired someone else to do it.

So why are these orgs not storing our personal information - at least ID hashed and salted so that they can only use it for it’s intended purpose - verification?

Would be GREAT if N4aughtySecGroup could infiltrate some high placed government politicians, like Malema and his ilk, as well! Come on lads and ladies, SASSA is all fine and well but let's get some real financial details on these corrupt criminals masquerading as politicians in South Africa!

Haha, you're seriously overestimating their "skills". These guys are just common criminals and should sit in jail for the rest of their lives. The guys who uncovered it are more hackers than them.

I believe this is true, I have an account at Tyme bank and everyday for a couple of days an amount of R69 was deducted from my account without any notification. I did speak to Tyme bank that said it has been hacked. Since I didn't do any transactions or buy anything those days. Especially not on FB.

Malema and chums don't use the local infrastructure, their cash is hidden offshore, and much of it is stuffed into sofas and cushions
