Hackers claim to have stolen R175 million after infiltrating SA banking system

Attackers declaring themselves to be the hacking group N4ughtySec, who previously targeted South Africa's credit bureaus, say they have stolen over R175 million from the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa).

The group said they extracted the funds by creating over 100,000 new bank accounts, which they achieved by breaching credit bureau XDS, as well as further exploiting TransUnion and Experian.

no-one cares in gov really - the money is being siphoned off to criminals -just that they're a Brazilian hacking group rather than SA politicians...

Hopefully the SRD grant breach can be closed.

One more excuse for government to use. We got hacked by non cadres.

Please help us from ourselves.

FLASH will solve the PROBLEM.

This is actually quite **** for the people that actually rely on SASSA.
Exactly. What next? Going after SPCA to steal the money from the puppies? Maybe Famsa, to ensure no rape victims get free biscuits any longer. Stealing money from the poorest South Africans isn’t very noble of them, or did they not do their research over what SASSA is before looting it?

I'm not sure this is that N4ughtySec.

They certainly want us to think it is, though...

That would be very naughty of them... is there any suspicions it is coming from locals? It feels like there must be someone with local information..

its ok we have no money in our accounts and we get enough spam calls in day so wont make a difference if morse spam callers join the party.

ViVa anc you bunch of useless cvnts.

Nothing unusual for them to cost the taxpayers fortunes for nothing in return.
