Naledi Pandor blames 'legacy of apartheid' for attacks on African foreigners
If it really was apartheid, why now? Why hasn't it spilled over let say 1, 2, or 10 years after 1994? She actually says why herself..

Pandor said South Africans, during the early years of the democratic dispensation, had a "generally peaceful coexistence" until desperation and frustration sparked by deepening poverty started.
Because it took this long for Naledi & co to turn what apartheid left them into a bloody mess.
They've had this country for 25 years, roughly half the time it took apartheid to exert its dominance and what did they do with it?
And that's why people are rampaging against the foreigners, no jobs no income no nothing because there is nothing left.
Twasn't this way when Mandela was in charge, wonder what changed? Could it be your own choice of Zuma for president that either broke or stole everything?
Has absolutely nothing do do with apartheid, else why would Zimbobweans have invaded this post-apartheid hellhole in their millions?
Even so, let me be the first say to Nigerians..

African Unity is a myth. Effectively the region's have so isolated from each other it's effectively like 4 different continents.

North Africa is basically an extension of Eurasia. West Africa is isolated it from the rest of Africa by the Sahara in the and the North and isolated it from East Africa by the Congo Rainforests. The Rift valley isolates East Africa from Southern Africa.

I wonder why these stereotypes about African nations exist  ? Pattern recognition must be a colonialism thing.

Only the Sahara is a real obstacle. The rest could be navigated. The pygmy tribes of the Congo lived in the rain forests. Things that influenced migrations were wars, fertile land, water, grazing, rainfall, diseases, etc. There was no incentive to cross the Sahara but the rain forest and rift valley could be navigated easily.

Pattern recognition observed in one place and applied universally, propaganda, etc

At this point just add "Apartheid the cause of"
Apartheid the cause of global warming
Apartheid the cause of global recession
Apartheid the cause of high petrol, food, water etc, prices
Apartheid the cause of high crimes stats
Hell why not, Apartheid the cause of farm attacks

If there's a problem, just add Apartheid, doesn't fix it, but at least makes "you" feel better knowing it wasn't your fault.

Rain forests cannot be navigated easily even with today's modern technology that's why there are still uncontacted and undiscovered tribes in the Amazon and Papua New Guinea.

Did she not get the memo? Blaming apartheid for everything only works on about 60% of South African voters. The rest of Africa helped bring down apartheid. They know the reason is corruption.

African rainforests were inhabited and not as vast and mushy as those of the Amazon afaik.

African Unity is definitely a myth; so much so that national unity with eleven official languages is a myth. (Julius Nyerere had the right idea when he abolished 132 dialects in favour of Swahili and unified the country.)

The Sahara, rift valley & rain forests were no barrier to the population of the world a few hundred years ago as the attached map shows. In the last few centuries African tribal groups had no incentive to expand or explore because they were able to prey on weaker neighbours.

The Amazon was also inhabited. There was no mass migration of people and ideas from West Africa due to the Congo Rainforests being a massive barrier and the all the problems crossing a tropical rainforest entails.
