hey, I got it working under linux via pppoe...

but now certain things like defiance.co.za and some stuff I cant resolve. what nameservers can i add to my /etc/resolv.conf?

Hi

I know the following 2 are the dns servers for MWeb
196.2.16.3
196.2.48.227

Been using them for years even though I'm not using the ISP

ok, i eventually started using these:

196.41.130.28
196.41.130.29

they seem to work well

Actually if you use roaring penguin pppoe just set it to automatically assign dns data. this way you end up with the correct dns settings.

In the pppd settings for pppoe you just add:

usepeerdns

I do not know where it is in the smoothwall setup. In Debian it will be in /etc/ppp/peers/dsl-provider configuration file. If you used defaults of course :). The resolv.conf will be updated automaticaly.
