Nanostation Loco 5

Hey guys, Been doing loads of reading on wifi recently, and have come up with a solution (i think) to link my office to my house. Mostly for ease of access, and to get some of the more important info at the office off site.

the distance between the 2 sites is at most 500 meters, but there are a few trees in the way to degrade the signal. Would 2 Nanostation Loco 5's be over kill for this link ??

what are my other options?

trees kill 5ghz totally
rather use 2.4 to go through trees

Ah...i see how the model numbers work now. so to correct my statement would 2 Nanostation Loco 2's be over kill ( im assuming these are the 2.4GHz items)

It should work, better than 5.8, as the 2.4 goes through trees better
how much dbi are the loco's panels ?

Well the spec sheet says "Gain 8dBi (2400-2500MHz)" and then for the larger item "Gain 10dBi (2400-2483.5MHz)"

TX spec
54Mbps 15 dBm +/-1dB

RX spec
54Mbps -72 dBm +/-1dB
