Johannesburg - Naspers hopes the imminent regulatory framework will help introduce real competition in the local market that has seen Telkom dominating most spheres of the telecommunications sector, says CEO Koos Bekker.

Naspers has internet subscriber platforms including a stake in M-Web.

Bekker derided Telkom's tariffs on Wednesday as "insane", and said "unless the market opens up, the country will fall behind in terms of internet density".

what i like about mr bekker is that he does not draw a salary - all his remuneration is linked to a performance clause involving share incentives..he does only as well as the company he runs (happens to have done bloody well)

i have time for people like that
