Production of the upcoming Apple TV+ miniseries Lady in the Lake was temporarily halted due to violent threats.
According to Variety, the Baltimore police department confirmed that a group of locals contacted producers working on the Natalie Portman-led show on Park Avenue in the downtown area of Baltimore, threatening to return in the evening to shoot somebody if production didn't cease.
Per the police report, producers were also told to pay a sum of $50 000 to the group before production would be allowed to continue.
The show's creator, Alma Har'el, shared more details in a series of since-deleted tweets.
"The safety and security of our crew, cast, vendors, production partners are of paramount importance. Production will resume with increased security procedures going forward," Har'el reportedly wrote.
A new location to film the series is now being sought.
