I have a National Diploma in Civil Engineering, but due to unforeseen circumstances we can't go forward with our studies for a Bachelor in Technology, and our Diploma's subjects are not recognized by the BEng degrees n SA, is there a University or College in Australia, Canada or European countries that recognizes our subjects and where we can study further?

BEng and Btech are two different paths, migrating from diploma to BEng means you have to do the entire BEng route, with only a maximum of 50% of credits brought over (if applicable, as in the subjects have the same content, usually only applies to first years). You need to look for the equivalent Btech.

Is this your degree: http://regqs.saqa.org.za/showQualification.php?id=23683 ? Or this: https://www.unisa.ac.za/sites/corpo.../National-Diploma:-Engineering:-Civil-(NDECI) ? You are an NQF Level 5/6, for overseas, check what your degree is equivalent to, quite a few countries have a similar system to us. For Europe, look for universities of technology as well, equivalent degree path.

There are others on this forum more knowledgeable than I, hopefully they can help you out.

You have to do your Avanced Diploma at CPUT.

You will have to do 4 bridging subjects. The Advanced Diploma including the bridging subjects would a 2 year full time course.

I have seen this Advanced Diploma previously and saw the NQF level is the same as the old BTech, wanted to see if their was any other options to obtain a Degree.

Take a look at: http://www.cput.ac.za/academic/faculties/engineering/new_qualifications

An advanced Diploma is equivalent to a degree/BEng. That's the entire idea of the change to the system, to make it more equivalent/comparable, notice the level changes between MTech (8) and Masters (9), which now is the same as the normal university path.

I'm actually expecting due to this that all the technical universities ranking will go up quite a bit as before Btech was messed up a bit as people from pure vocational colleges could enter which resulted in a high drop-out rate from them as they needed to be a lot more academic for it, which reduced potential MTech students.

I've met some people at CPUT that were doing the old Btech in engineering, I think that this is the last year (after like 3 years extensions) of Btech, they've been meaning to change it since 2015. I've managed to get into the new Masters after doing a bridging course, which is probably no longer possible as the advanced diploma now exists, plus doesn't apply to you as you would still need to do Btech.

If you can manage to get into Btech instead, try and get into that instead, saves you a year, but you'd have to catch up with a bridging course if you wanted to get into masters/they'd force you into post graduate for further studies.

It all depends on what path you want to take. Most of the changes to the degrees are good though.
